The bluefin showed up further offshore a couple of weeks ago then disappeared, many long range and local boats were searching for them to get on the bite but so far it's been tough. Well they finally reappeared up in Northern California so the trolling bite is officially on. The yellowtail bite has been great albeit hit or miss, many shots at 15-30lb yellowtail on the yoyo iron and bait.

We've had outstanding offshore fishing out of San Diego for over a month now, the bluefin have officially shown up so many boats are targeting them during the day and at night. Further down there have been some good grade yellowfin caught without needed to go long range, as well as the Coronado bite that keeps producing good yellowtail. There's even been some dorado in the counts so with the water starting to warm up we may be looking at a good season.
