Fishermen's Journal

Articles From Fishermen Like You

The articles in this section are written by visitors of CharkBait, folks with some information to share.  Proving experience really is the best teacher, it's hoped that sharing these experiences are of aid to others.  If you have some smarts to share please consider offering your own contribution to the Journal.  You don't have to be the world's most polished writer (I prove that all the time).  But, you do have to offer something folks can use.   Be the first on your block (dock?) to make this list...  Besides the joy of helping others, you'll also get your very own free CharkBait hat or tee-shirt.  Send an email for info.

Video Files:
Four new files for you.  For those new to LD reels, we've added a brief instructional about setting the drag on lever drag reels. Three videos feature Max from our shop showing how to make a Spectra loop using Daho needles and use of the Sato crimping method for Spectra to mono or fluorocarbon leader connections. I've also redone one vid from about 10 years ago which explains the Bimini to Albright Spectra connection. We'll try to make our newer videos in both Windows Media and Apple Quicktime file types. Best resolution on a computer will be from the Windows format, but the Iphone compatible MP4 file will prove a fast load on your Ipod or Iphone device. The Mp4 file is about half the size and made for a much smaller screen. Click on the links below to view.

Please note, as of 2010 we're making use of our YouTube channel for video posting. The load time is much faster there than here. So, many of our videos below are also there, and it's an easier load. You can find us at CharkBaitUSA on YouTube.
