We can get a special order going for you, Sevenstrand is local, but expect to add a couple weeks to the delivery time. Most guys would agree, if you could only have one offshore lure in your tackle kit, you'd probably pick a Sevenstrand.

All lures are priced unrigged, unless otherwise stated. If you'd like the lures prepared for use, that's no problem. There are several options available in terms of hook selection and line. Sevenstrand E.A.L.

Electronic Acoustic Lures

These lures are not for everyone, no doubt about it. Not many folks will be willing to spend $200 for a lure, especially one that's going to be used as a teaser, run hookless, only intended to bring in some fish to the spread. But, for folks fishing tournaments, Sevenstrand's E.A.L. is very likely the best $250 investment a guy can make.

Several years ago the folks at Sevenstrand came across a government study produced for the commercial fishing industry. It involved finding the sound frequencies made by distressed bait fish. The purpose of the study was to find out if sound could be used to attract game fish to a specific area. Based on this research the folks from Sevenstrand did some experimenting themselves, added the help of an aerospace scientist with 20 years experience in the design of microwave and millimeter wave electronics, and arrived a reliable and small sound producing design that fits into a trolling lure.

During the testing of the Sonic E.A.L. many species of Billfish have been taken, as well as other gamefish. Many anglers have commented that the E.A.L. is the most effective teaser they have ever used. A few complained that it seemed the Billfish didn't want to get off the teaser and onto the bait! This is a proven new product, it's won two prestigious Tuna Club of Avalon tournaments. As well, it's now making waves in Cabo. Battery life is about eight hours, approximately one nice long day of fishing.

We're stocking this exciting new product in three sizes and three favored patterns: Mean Joe Green, Sablefish, and Petrolero. If you are looking for a pattern not offered, don't fret. We can have the lure made in any standard Sevenstrand pattern, but be prepared for a 3 week wait.

Sevenstrand's Kona Clones offer premium construction, exceptional skirts and great, proven head designs. They've stood the test of time, they catch fish, they're excellent values. The Kona Clones are available in two sizes with swimmer and pusher heads. We stock them in good quantity, in a wide variety of color patters, the right patterns for your fishing. Not sure what works where? Just give give me call at the shop during "regulation" hours. I'll be glad to help point you in the right direction.

The 9 1/2" 1200 size will bring you marline, tuna, dorado and sailfish, to name a few. They run offer three head designs. Their head is about 1 inch in diameter. The larger 1220 size is for the bigger fish, or when the smaller fish are feeding like gluttons. The 1220's are about 11 inches in length with a head diameter of 1.5".

We often rig the smaller lures with a single 8/0 or 9/0 hook, though they can be run with a double rig as well. The larger lures are more often rigged with double hooks running at 180 degrees offset. Most often we'll go with 9/0 - 10/0 size hooks when rigging these lures. I like to run the low resistance swimmers (C) off my outriggers if I'm pulling some speed, then run the pushers (CF) off the flat lines, or at moderate speeds (7-10 or knots) I'll use the 1200's off the corners and center lines.

The 1210C's are no more. Sevenstrand has discontinued this head design.

The Green Machine

Here's a lure that's a mainstay for our clients on the East Coast, but an undiscovered wonder for the folks fishing Southern California. The Green Machine is a terrific lure, simple and effective. It's available in two sizes, and will take tuna, marlin, pretty much any hungry gamefish. You can rig them with single or double hook rigs, your preference. The standard Green Machine is 12 inches, the Mini Green Machine is 9 inches in length.

Sevenstrand Petrolero and Bleeding Dorado

It may not look like much to you. But for billfish down south the Petrolero pattern is a proven way to put the fish on the hook. They have been tough to find. Frankly, my supplier down south never has 'em in stock when I have tried to order 'em. So, we took the direct approach, grab 'em straight from Sevenstrand's factory. This pattern belongs in your flight bag on your next trip.

Based on some recent feedback another pattern is gaining a big following down south, the Bleeding Dorado.* It's a great bright light lure, and a good contrast in your spread when its run along with the Petrolero pattern.
