In keeping with our style of doing business, we don't post things that
we don't actually have in stock.
That's one reason why the images you see on our site are our own, not
the manufacturer's photos. If you see an image of a product, you know
we actually have the piece in stock. Well, after over a year's worth of
waiting we finally received the new Torque spinning reels! First glance, they are
beautiful, first feel, smooth and confidence inspiring. They are
strong, look at the shaft in the picture...they are very strong and
capable, and Penn took their time testing, refining and improving the
reels prior to their introduction, that's a very good thing. At this
point in time, only about 50 are able to be produced each month, the
limitation is the specific design and extraordinary hardness of the
gears.
Penn's Torque Spinner is so typically a Penn International...at
their
best. Solid, strong, workhorse, these are adjectives that have
described Internationals through the years, and the Torque Spinner is
no different. It features a fully machined aluminum body, completely
sealed, preventing sand and contaminant intrusion. The water tight
frame has 7+1 stainless steel bearings for smoothness, and they are
the right kind of bearings for the use intended. The reel features
Penn's patented Versa-Drag system, allowing you to tune the drag for
your particular style of fishing. And, just as you might have hoped,
the drag is sealed, too. There's an integral clutch sleeve to
eliminate any back-pay during a hook set. The one-piece aluminum frame
is complemented with a forged aluminum spool and sideplates. Torque's
have machine cut bronze main gears, and hardened stainless steel
pinion gears. The bail is made from stainless steel, and features a
unique push button selector for automatic or manual trip. You can even make the reel
"bail-less" with an accessory kit. The reel is made to fish Spectra,
it's got the strength for it, it was made for it. That's a very nice
feature, to actually have a choice. Most manufacturers assume they
know how you'll fish their spinning reels. Penn gives you a choice,
recognizing that there are times for both styles of use.
I have to say, I'd love to own and fish this reel. You can't
appreciate it until you hold it, it feels like a Penn. It's all
International. Looking at its competition, Penn's new Torque series
stacks up very well and the pricing is realistic, in fact a
comparative value. Based on construction and materials, value, the
Penn folks have made a reel a lot of us would like to own and fish.
Proof is in the pudd'n, but with all the field-testing (sea-testing?)
done prior to release, this reel is darn impressive.
Click image left for a brief video tour of the new reels.
Model 5 pictured in gold, model 7 in
background and below.
Note the button on the back of the reel,
for manual or automatic bail selection.
As an added incentive to get your order
placed, we'll be including something very useful along with the reel
you purchase. FREE SPECTRA SPOOLING! Note, we're not including some
second rate "rough" line or nameless "braid." We include quality
American made Spectra from Jerry Brown or Izorline...

Made in America, and very proud of
it!
Conquer!
Here's a unique new spinning reel that should reawaken some very
serious interest in this legendary manufacturers spinning line-up. The
list of features is impressive, but most impressive is the feel of this
excellent new reel. It's the best I've seen from Penn in the world of
spinning tackle for several years, and is the tip of the iceberg. Here are a few of
the features:
- EAS Easy Access System: allows maintenance hatch to be lowered to
access key internal parts for lubrication. Simple feature, that will
make your reel easier to maintain and longer living. Maintenance on most
spinners is a major problem, there's no access for lubrication, this reel makes that drudgery easy.
- Eternal Alloy - The spool lip is made from a proprietary metal that
resists dents and scratches, and as a result maintains it's casting
distance over the life of the reel. This is a revolutionary material
that provides performance far exceeding any other material. It's
- Superline Spool - No backing needed because of the rubber
gasket installed to the spool. This reel is made for Spectra use, from
the ground up. From the standpoint of spooling up, to the drags, it's
ready for Spectra.
- Patented one-piece machined aluminum gear box - This is a metal reel,
not plastic fantastic.
- Forged, machined, and anodized aluminum spool
- Machine-cut allow main gear
- HT-100 drag washers provide smooth drag under heavy loads
- 10 shielded stainless steel ball bearings
- Infinite anti-reverse
- Spectra ready, to handle the strain that braided lines put on a reel.
- Friction trip ramp prevents premature bail trip when casting.
These are just a few of the features that distinguish this new spinning
reel. It is a dandy! And, we're very confident you'll like this piece
too.

excellent new reel. Here are the specs:

Penn Fierce &
Battle
Special: Free Spooling
- Free Shipping!
Here's
another pair of excellent new reels from the folks at Penn, the
Fierce and the Battle. Penn has finally begun showing the benefits
of their change in ownership, the new models are arriving, field
tests are over, product is flowing, and the new gear is well planned
and execuited. Penn's on a roll for 2011, and we're excited to see
and show off the new gear! (not to mention own, since a couple of the
guys working here have already plopped down their $ on some of the
new reels)
Fierce Penn's new Fierce offers unprecedented value and
performance in a moderately priced spinning reel. The new reels run
well under $100, yet they offer a full metal body and sideplate,
strength to keep precise gear alignment under heavy loads. They
feature a machined and anodized aluminum spool, stainless steel main
shaft, four stainless steel ball bearings, infinate anti reverse and
a Techno-balanced roter for smooth retrieves. Their handle is

FREE MONO SPOOLING
Battle Penn's new Battle offers a lot, high speed, high drag
enhanced with HT 100's, and smooth performance. The most noticeable enhancements over the Fierce are the use of HT100
drag washers and the overall feel of the reel - it's more robust in
keeping with its intended heavier use of braided "super lines." The Battle is tough,
made with a full metal body and sideplate for greater rigidity under
heavy load - better gear alignment is the big benefit. The Battle
incorporates Penn's Superline Spool, no backing is required for use
with Spectra because of the rubber gasket that keeps the line from
slipping on the spool! The spool is made from machined aluminum,
anodized for long life in a harsh saltwater environment. You also have
the big benefit of HT 100's, one of the best drag washers available,
providing smooth performance under high loads. You have a stainless
steel main shaft, six sealed stainless steel ball bearings for longer
life and less problems with saltwater intrusion, an infinite
anti-0reverse and Techno-balanced rotor for smooth retrieves. The
handle is made from machined aluminum, anodized for long life, and
with a soft touch knob. Nice reel, very good performance, nothing
short of an excellent value. Darn amazing what you can buy for under
$150!

Penn Metal Slammer & Slammer Live
Liner
Penn's
Slammer series of spinning reels are made for saltwater
anglers needing a little help with their casting, whether it
be due to lighter weight bait, artificials, or simply the
inherent ease of tossing your offering more easily. While we
often overlook spinning tackle here on the Left Coast, it's
a mistake. I've been on too many boats and seen too many
jackpots won with spinners. The reason for their bad-rap out
here is the lack of quality. Penn's addressed that one, and
certainly Accurate also has done a lot to change folks
opinions. Penn's Slammer series are some of the best reels a
guy can own, if you're seeking the benefits spinning tackle
offers. The 760 model specifically is large enough, tough
enough, to get the job done well. And, their newest model,
the 760 Live Liner, offers bait fishermen the benefit of "freespooling"
a bait!

Penn Spinfisher® SS Spinning Reels
SKIRTED SPOOL SPINNING REELS
The SS series
have been around a long time and have been a standard by which to
judge spinning reels for saltwater use. They are rugged, durable,
parts accessibility and drag capability have made them winners among
dedicated anglers. Penn shifted production in 2006 and
did some updating of the line-up, adding to their value and
performance. They've earned high marks for
ruggedness and reliability, as well as typical excellent Penn parts
support. The selected reels feature a skirted
spool design which allows for greater line capacity, longer casts and less line
related problems. They also feature balanced 4.6:1 gear ratios, graphite housings, HT100 drag material, anodized aluminum spools,
and stainless steel ball bearings. If you use spinning gear, you'll be pleased with
this series of products from Penn. They're rock solid performers.
When the Going Gets Tough.
Big fish are tough, but Penn's Spinfisher® SS spinning
reels are even tougher. They feature either forged or machined gold anodized aluminum
skirted spools for strength and durability. The heavy duty Spinfisher® SSM
(Metal) models have rugged die-cast black enameled aluminum housings and rotors. All other Spinfisher® SSG
(Graphite) reels feature lightweight yet strong corrosion proof graphite housings and
rotors.
Skirted Spool Performance. The skirted spools on Penn Spinfisher® SS reels not only
look great, they serve multiple purposes. Like greater line capacity, longer casts and
fewer tangles, to name a few. This design also helps keep contaminants away from the
internal reel components.
What a Drag! Built right into the spool, Penn's proven multi-disc HT-100 drag system
won't let you down when a trophy size gamefish is on the line. An infinitely adjustable
drag control knob lets you fine tune the drag pressure to suit the situation. Penn's
950SSG (available July '06), also known as "The Big Mama," features a specially designed oversized
drag with a single International®-style washer underneath the spool. Light action 420SSG
and 430SSG model Spinfishers® have spools that can be released with the push of a button
for quick, easy line changes.
Inner Strength. Inside each Spinfisher® SS reel is a network of parts that makes these reels
exceptionally strong and solid. A stainless steel main shaft, supported by bronze
bushings, extends from the spool drag knob through the entire housing. Extra cranking
power is delivered by powerful, corrosion resistant main and pinion gears, built to last
for the long haul. For smoothness under pressure, Spinfisher® SS reels feature up to four
stainless steel ball bearings.
