Seeker Classic Series for
2010
Built with the original California Tackle (Sabre) tooling and
designs, the new Classic Series rods have quickly become the talk of the fishing tackle
industry. These time-tested actions are built using Seeker's legendary
"Pride-in-Workmanship" standards.
If you are serious about your gear, or
planning a long range trip, the Classic Series from Seeker is the starting point for your
rod selection. These are the proven standards of the Long Range fishing
scene. The components are all high quality, and the blanks and workmanship are the
best you'll find in EGlass. Moving up to Seeker's Black Steel or going with Custom
work will provide you with benefits beyond this series of product, as they should for the
extra cost. But, from a purely functional standpoint, the Classics will get the job
done as well. And, they've been proven over time.
Features:
These rods are constructed using either honey
gold or black "E" Glass/Boron blanks. All rods are built with premium Perfection
Carbide tip tops and Perfection Hard Chrome guides, or AFTCO roller guides, and come with
either durable Hypalon grips or cork tape handles. Live Bait/Jig models come with Fuji
Graphite cushioned hood reel seats and hard rubber butt caps, while the Stand Up/Tuna
models have Perfection Anodized Aluminum reel seats and Perfection Anodized Aluminum gimbal butt caps.
The
live bait rods are double wrapped with a blue metalic thread; the heavier
rods (660 and above) are triple wrapped.
The Classic Series rods are only available in black, with a
blue wrap. There was a time when they also made 'em in Honey as is pictured,
but those days are past.

Cork Puppy
A
lot of West Coast fishermen use deckhand style
rods, rods with a corktape grip wrap instead of
making use of a more typical reel seat with a
hypolon or cork handle. The corktape deckhand
rods are preferred by long-cast guys - jig
fishermen, and those desiring a longer rod and
longer casts. Additionally, the deckhand rods
allow the fisherman to mount the reel using a
rod clamp in a more custom, more comfortable and
balanced position, again aiding in longer casts.
One drawback of this type of handle/grip is that
the reel clamp tends to dig into the cork over
time. Applying that clamp's pressure over a
larger area reduces the grind on the cork and
allows for a more secure mount. The Cork Puppy
solves the mounting problem quite well. They fit
the majority of rods, and reels made. If your
intent is to mount a reel (that has a rod clamp)
to a deckhand rod, this product just might be a
necessity. There are three sizes, measured by
the rod's diameter in the area you intend to
mount the reel. It's made of machined 6061-T6
aluminum with type II anodizing.
CharkBait
Rod Socks
Our Chark-Sleeves are
a bit different than the one's above. They are
available in three sizes. The base of the
sleeve folds up onto the butt section of the
rod and then can be tied off. So, one size can
fit shorter rods with no problem. They are
made of 89% polyester and 11% lycra (like OJ's
gloves if you remember...). The material is
versatile, durable and quick drying. It's
super stretchy, and the micro polyester fabric
wicks away moisture - like those $60 golf
shirts. Nice product, nice price! These will
stretch up to one foot longer in length. So, a
5' will indeed fit a 6' rod, the 7 will
stretch to a tight 8.
