Bugs & Bait NETS, FISH TRAPS & BAIT CATCHERS
To order from this page just make your selections and click on the "Add to Cart" button or the "Buy" link. If you run into difficulties please make use of our toll-free line and give us a call. Our phone numbers, fax and email addresses are posted at the bottom of this page. Disclaimer: The shopping cart script isn't fully configured to supply shipping charges and state sales tax. We'll still weigh and measure, compute shipping, then send back an invoice via email with your complete charges, including applicable taxes should you live in California. Shipping charges will apply to all orders under $100. Standard size orders over $100 are shipped free of charge within the continental USA. Oversized items will have some shipping costs as a result of higher shipping rates with UPS for bulkier or heavier items. Please note, our free shipping policy does not apply to oversized items such as lobster nets. There will be a charge associated with these items unless they are purchased in a case pack (as listed below). When you place your order you will not be billed until we send you back a confirming invoice - usually within a day - for your approval prior to billing and shipping For a long time I've been interesting in bug'n, always impressed with what folks doing it had the potential to bring to the plate. Yep, lobster and crab as a target? That's darn tasteful. If you boat in Southern California you've got a great inshore resource - lobster and big spider crabs. Further up the coast the eating gets even better, with tasty and more succulent crabs. If you love fishing, love being on the water, here's another great excuse to have the boat in the water. It's a wonderful way to add another dimension to your "fishing." Besides bug'n, we've also selected a number of bait catching devices for inclusion to this page. The traps and umbrella nets can be very useful for private boaters in grabbing a few pieces of bait, and matching the hatch. Like any type of fishing, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to check your state's regulations regarding appropriate gear and seasons. Just because it's listed on this page, don't assume the devices mentioned are legal in your neck of the woods. You must check the regs!!!

The folks at Promar offer many really neat things that fishermen use. One new item we're now stocking is their Cast nets. These are a very good quality product, hand made with six panels. They are weighted and really are a cinch to cast. They offer the nets in several sizes from 5 to 12 feet in diameter. All the nets come in a handy storage container so you've got a place to put 'em when they're not in the water. The first nets listed are their best, with a mesh size of 1/4" and 1 1/2 pounds of lead per foot. We also have their more economical nets listed below. The Econo-Casting nets from Promar use a 3/8" mesh and are 3/4# per foot. The lighter nets are easier for folks new to the art of bait making, and for use in shallower waters.
These are the nets you need for catching crabs, lobsters and for landing fish from a pier, boat or bridge. They are heavy duty, twenty inches deep, with polyethylene netting that's deep enough to hold and prevent the escape of your catch. They're zinc galvanized steel construction prevents rust on the opper and lower rings. The standard net has an upper ring measuring 32 inches, with a 12" lower ring. They also feature a bait sock in the bottom to hold onto your bait - no need for a bait box. The net is available in either black or green netting.
The NE-103 Crab Net Harness includes 60 feet of poly rope, and two 5 inch secure floats.
The Jumbo Hoop Net has all the same features as the model 101, it's just bigger. The net features a 36" upper ring and 14" lower ring. It also comes with two secure marker floats and 100 feet of poly rope.
ProMar has just introduced their new Eclipse net, about as close to a trap as you can get without being cited by Fish and Game. It's 36 inches in width and 20" high, and with the sides angling back inward the bugs really will be more likely to remain in the net by the time you pull 'em up to the boat. These new nets are unrigged, but we've got you covered there with a new Pro kit that includes the larger floats, rope and a bait box for only $19.99. The new net sells for $39.99.
Nets are oversized, so shipping does carry an expense. We will not bill or ship your order until you have been notified of the final shipping costs. If your plan is to buy just one net, be prepared that shipping may run as much as the cost of a net! So, it's a much better plan to buy a few nets and spread out the cost of the shipping over several nets. It's much more economical that way. To make life even easier on you, we are offering the nets in case packs. Buy a case and we'll absorb the shipping charges to most destinations within the continental USA. If you are located way out in the boonies there may have to be a modest surcharge, but for most destinations we we'll cover the shipping when you order by the case.
