Upon placing  your order you'll receive an immediate confirmation via email. You are not billed at that time. We process orders manually, preferring to have a human actually check things over and contact you should there be questions. Within 24 hours of placing your order you will receive a follow-up email confirmation and final invoice reflecting your total charges (Monday-Friday). You are not billed until we actually send you your final invoice.  Orders shipped to CA addresses will have California Sales Taxes applied, out of state orders are tax free. Orders over $100 are shipped FREE!* Orders less than $100 are billed for shipping. During the ordering process you can select expedited shipping if required. (Within the USA via UPS ground. International, and oversize/weight items will be billed for shipping and you will be sent an emailed invoice reflecting total charges prior to actual billing. 544 Iron

544 produces a very interesting chunk of iron...or was that zinc?  They took the standard style iron and created a new shape to add a great deal of extra kick and action to the lure.  They make two styles at this point that we're stocking, in several excellent color patterns that have earned popular following. They make a large 6.5" lure, the 544, and a smaller version 5", the 544XX.  The makers of the 544 jigs are new to the fishing tackle manufacturing scene, but they've hit upon a unique advancement in lure design.  They will produce for you, no doubt about it.

 

While the color patterns are something you'll appreciate, they're very nicely finished, you'll immediately catch their unique shape.  They shaved a bit of weight off the lure, gave it a unique cut that really does make the things swim well.  They're different, and they will get you noticed by the surface feeding fish. Barracuda, bluefish, any predatory gamefish that likes to jump on surface forage will be enticed by these jigs.  Fish them on 20-30# line, cast them some distance, then try different retrieve speeds until you get things dialed in for the day's bite.  You'll love fishing iron, and these things will make your results immediately noticeable.

The guys behind 544 Lures are a father/son team. They have another business, but love fishing, specifically fishing iron. Their uniquely cut surface and heavy jigs have attracted a lot of attention among guys who share their affinity for tossing iron, covering more water, getting bit more often, and getting bit up on top where it's more exciting.  We've carried their lures for a few years now, and they've earned a loyal following. I've heard back from guys on local trips saying that the 544's were the best producing surface irons on the boat. I can believe 'em, given their shape they present themselves differently than any other lure. They have a kick!

A couple years ago 544 dropped off some new SURFACE jigs, with a darn trick paint job. Actually, Tom from our warehouse saw a couple being used on our recent San Clemente Island, then talked to the 544 guys and had them bring 'em over. We offered them, and then only sold them in our shop due to a lack of adequate supply. I think we've overcome that issue now. These new surface iron jigs use that "custom car" paint that seems to change color as the angle from which you're looking changes. The colors shift, typically three distinct colors that vary with the angle you view the lure from. Not sure if I said that right, but hopefully you get my drift, the darn things change color! Not easy to photograph that aspect of these nifty jigs. Anyway, we brought a dozen into the shop, they were all gone within a two days. Brought more in, planning to take pictures, but these too went out the door before I could shot 'em. So, this time we had 'em ship the lures to our warehouse instead of the shop. So, here they are, stock is limited, get 'em and enjoy 'em. If we run out of our stock at the warehouse, we'll rob the shop and then beg the guys from 544 to make up more for us. They take a little more time to produce, given the trick painting. But, they are unique lures that you probably won't see anyone else using. They do get bit, that's something we can say with certainty given the feedback the guys at our shop have received.
