Mend-it!

Here's a great product we just came across. If you fish plastics, soft swimbaits, you'll absolutely love this stuff. In the past, some folks have tried using super glue or a match to deal with tears and breaks in soft plastic baits. If you fish a lot of plastics, you know that the cost can add up with torn lures, lures that have been bitten... The problem is that the other methods of fixing these lures either does not work or it causes problems of their own. Super glue works up to a point, but it's not perfect. Add to that that the stuff also bonds to your fingers, gets hard, and makes a horrible mess on a boat when some bozo steps on the container and gets it all over the boat. The Mend-it won't stick to your skin, clothing, boat or carpet so it can confidently be used whenever and wherever you need it. Mend-it is a "non-glue" which binds soft plastic bait together by chemically "melting" them, creating a catalyzing action between the pieces of plastic treated with Mend-it. It dries clear, soft and strong leaving the mended bait as good as new. The picture shows a plastic bait that was mended with this unique product. It's the best product we've seen for dealing with this issue, and it's American made. Pricing for a 1 ounce bottle is only $12.

Another popular item for folks using soft plastic swimbaits is Zap-a-Gap. This product works well when rigging your lure on a leadhead. Apply a little on the base of the hook and where the lure comes in contact with the leadhead. Give it a couple minutes to dry, and you'll find that the lure will hold onto the hook better, be less prone to shift position and likely last longer.

New RoboWorm Swimbaits

In the world of soft plastics, RoboWorm is a firm well known by the freshwater bass guys. They are now entering the saltwater arena with an excellent new swimbait. The lures have a unique tail, scale pattern, dorsal and caudal fins, and gorgeous job of coloring finish. You'll find these lures to be a bit more long-lived than your traditional hand poured lure. The images don't quite do 'em justice, good shape, good glitter, the right patterns in our estimation. And, we have 'em at a fair price. You might have seen these posted by another imitative site recently for $12 for five lures... Not here.
There are two sizes of lure, a five and six inch'r. Lures like these work best with a leadhead (tri-head style as pictured. If you have not fished saltwater plastics before, do it. Give it some time, and you'll find a lot of worthy applications. The right lure and hook combination allows you to target almost anything. They're commonly used for albacore & yellowtail by the more offshore bound. Inshore striped bass, calico bass...any self respecting bass that lives up to it's name...will attack these things with gusto. If you haven't fished plastics, these lures are a fine way to get introduced to this productive and enjoyable style of fishing.
