Well, you might think we've gone off the deep end by carrying time keeping devices. But, they can be an essential ingredient to a day's fishing. I mean, if you're supposed to be at the boat by 4AM and you don't get there until 6AM chances are you're standing at the dock instead of running offshore with your buddies. It's nice to know what time it is...even if you're not clock watching. Sure, you may have a nice Rolex, Omega or Tag watch, but does it really belong on a fishing trip? Maybe for you, but not for me. I prefer something a little less expensive on my wrist if I'm banging around on a boat. I came across a manufacturer of quality timepieces, watches with many designs that will interest fishermen. The firm has been in business since the 1940's, and their designs are very unique. I'm especially keen on their carabener style watches, like the fact that I can have my watch on my hip instead of my wrist when I'm fishing or working in a more physical mode. REQ VIBE

What makes this watch so special is the Electromagnetic Quartz Movement. The charger (pictured below) allows you to recharge the quartz cell inside, instead of having to replace the battery. This is achieved by Induction Charging, so no wires, or plugs, the current passes through the back of the watch to charge the battery. No battery replacement is required. In addition, the REQ uses less moving parts; watches can be made thinner and lighter. With an impressive limited 10 year warranty there really never should be a need to open this factory sealed water resistant watch.

I bought one of these watches this year (2006) to compliment my Angler II - for those times I actually want to have a watch on my wrist. It's been a dandy piece. I like the unobtrusive vibrating alarm feature a lot, and it's saved me countless opportunities for getting on the wrong side of my wife for being late picking her or our son up... The fact that I don't have to worry about batteries is an added bonus that's much appreciated. It's Rechargeable! Because of our REQ Rechargeable Movement, you can literally "forget about the battery." The S.O.S. Torch also features our Dual Layer LED Dial Lights with (3) Operating Modes: 1) Dial Illumination, 2) Flashlight, 3) S.O.S. Signal (the LED lights actually flash the Morse Code signal for S.O.S.). This S.O.S. Torch also features our Interchangeable Bezel & Shield. This includes a removeable Lid to protect the watch crystal from the elements. Using the included Screwdriver, the Shield Lid can be changed to the included Bezel for a completely new look!

The SOS Torch is a trick watch. Like the REQ above, you'll never need batteries with this watch thanks to the charging stand. The most notable features are the protective cover and the light functions. You have both a bright LED dial light with three LED's in blue and a VERY bright flashlight with three red led's. Press the button on the side of the watch again and it sends out a bright SOS signal. This watch has no digital readout, so there's no day/date function or alarm. It's a basic watch, with not so basic operating features. This is another one that I bought (my third Dakota watch...). It's a great watch for boaters, with a non blinding red flashligt handy for rigging assistance. The luminous hands and numbers are also useful, but I find myself using the blue illumination much more often. The protective cover is a most useful thing when you're banging into stuff...something I'm known to do. And the watch also comes with another couple covers as shown in the picture below.

Your Dakota watch movement is guaranteed for five years from the date of purchase to keep accurate time as determined by the manufacturer. Our lines of Q2 and REQ watches come with a 10 year warranty.

The external parts of your watch such as the case, band, crystal, stem & crown are not covered under this warranty. There will be moderate charges for the repair of these external parts.

The warranty is void for any watch returned rusted (if not specified to be water resistant), damaged, tampered with, or other wise abused.

In the event of a defect, return your watch with the sales receipt to the nearest store location. If this is not possible, mail the watch and a copy of the sales receipt to the address listed below:
